Tap and WellTreasure Valley water, from the public record

Privacy

What Tap and Well stores, for how long, and what it never stores.

Addresses

When you use the lookup tool with a street address, the address is sent to our geocoding provider to obtain coordinates. We cache the result under a hash of the normalized address for 30 days so repeat lookups are fast, then delete it. We will not sell your address. Addresses are not written to logs beyond that cache and are never stored with results.

Lab result submissions

If you upload a lab report or enter results, we store the values, the sample date, the lab name, and your location rounded to a hexagonal cell about 1.2 km across. We do not store your address. If you give an email to receive a report, it is stored with your consent text and the version of that text. Submissions are reviewed by a person before they are used in aggregate well estimates.

Email

An email address you enter to receive a water report is used to send that report and, if you opted in, follow-up on the same topic. We will not sell your address. Unsubscribe links are in every message.

Install quote requests (when offered)

If you request a quote from a licensed plumber, we store your name, phone, email, ZIP, product interest and the water profile you were viewing, along with the exact consent text you agreed to and the time. We tell you before you submit that the request may be shared with a licensed plumber. Lead records are deleted 24 months after creation.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting, cookie-free analytics for page counts. Affiliate links pass through a first-party redirect so we can count clicks per page; no personal data is attached.
